Details:The client, a professional water treatment equipment manufacturer, requested a customized welding system from our company to automate the vertical seam welding of its cylindrical workpieces, thereby improving production quality and efficiency. The workpieces are made of stainless steel, with diameters ranging from 500 to 4000 mm. The system requires stable single-sided welding with double-sided forming, and in some scenarios, double-sided welding is necessary.
Based on the structural characteristics and process requirements of the client's workpieces, our company designed and delivered a side-beam welding system. This system can handle both longitudinal and circumferential welds with automation. The equipment adopts a modular design, integrating two high-efficiency welding solutions:
Plasma welding system: equipped with a Pegasus 550i welding power supply, suitable for high-efficiency deep-penetration welding of medium and thick plates; Argon arc welding system: equipped with a Panasonic YC-400TX4 welding power supply, suitable for applications requiring high weld formation and surface quality.
The equipment employs high-precision adjustment mechanisms in all three dimensions: horizontal movement uses heavy-duty roller guides, while vertical and lateral fine-tuning uses linear guides driven by AC servo motors and supplemented by a gear transmission system, achieving high stability and repeatable positioning of the welding torch. After the system was put into use, the welding process became fully automated, the first-pass yield rate was significantly improved, and the quality of both the internal and external welds met high standards. Customer feedback indicated that the equipment is easy to operate and runs stably. While ensuring consistent welding quality, production efficiency was increased by more than 40% compared to the original process, fully meeting their dual requirements for welding quality and production capacity in water treatment equipment manufacturing.
