Details: The client is currently undertaking a water conservancy construction project and urgently needs a highly efficient and reliable pipeline welding solution. After undertaking this project, our company designed and delivered a customized automated pipeline welding system based on the client's workpiece characteristics: stainless steel material, pipe diameter ranging from 18-350mm, and single piece weight not exceeding 300kg.
The system adopts a layout where the welding torch is fixed and the workpiece rotates. It is equipped with a variable position drive carrier, which can adapt to the rapid clamping and precise rotation of workpieces of different diameters. The welding process used is Turbo Argon (TIG) welding, supporting multi-layer, multi-pass welding, meeting the all-position welding needs of pipes with different wall thicknesses.
The equipment mainly consists of the following core modules:
Cross-axis structure base: Provides high-rigidity support to ensure stable system operation;
Variable position drive mechanism: Adapts to different pipe diameters, enabling uniform workpiece rotation;
High-precision welding head and TIG welding system: Outputs a stable arc, ensuring penetration depth and weld quality;
Welding oscillation mechanism and arc length tracking system: Adjusts the welding torch posture and arc length in real time to adapt to changes in weld position;
Integrated electrical control system: Coordinates all execution units and supports parameter storage and retrieval.
After the equipment is put into use, the welding process is automated, the weld formation is uniform and consistent, the flaw detection pass rate is significantly improved, and production efficiency is increased by approximately 60% compared to manual welding. While ensuring the welding quality of water conservancy pipelines, it effectively controls construction costs and schedules.
